Rainy, breezy and mild for Tuesday, but winter cold and snow lurks in the forecast

SPOKANE, Wash. — The wet weather is just getting started in the Inland Northwest.

The snow levels are on the rise right now, and it’s going to be all rain in the valleys Monday overnight and through the day on Tuesday. It will be breezy as well, with southwest wind gusts to 35 overnight.

Late Tuesday night, a cold front will bring cooler weather and snow to the valleys.

Expect light rain or snow showers Wednesday and Thursday. A strong winter storm arrives Friday with significant snow accumulation possible for all elevations. The weekend will continue to bring hit and miss snow showers. Right now, it looks like a significant cold snap will kick off on Sunday with temperatures for highs in the teens and lows in the single digits.
