The time has finally come, Cougs. Cougar Country is back.

The Pullman staple will open for a limited time before returning to full service. The drive-in will be open Wednesday night from 5 to 9 p.m.

Owners of the beloved restaurant posted the announcement on Facebook and encouraged faithfuls to keep an eye online to see when the next opening will be.

Cougar Country Drive-In recently came under new ownership. In July, the owners of Zoe Coffeehouse and Pub announced they would take over the drive-in after it suddenly shut its door in February.

The former owner, Rhonda Witt-Miller, told 4 News Now earlier this year the restaurant was not closing, despite several employees saying otherwise. Soon after, Witt-Miller confirmed doors were closing.

Witt-Miller admitted to 4 News Now that employees were asked not to cash their paychecks because they would likely not clear. She also said she needed to secure extra financing before they could pay a major supplier. She promised all employees she would “make this right.”

Since the new owners took over, the restaurant has been prepping to reopen. A staff was recently hired and the grills will soon be flaming once again.

The restaurant has been in business in Pullman since 1973 and is a favorite of Pullman locals, Washington State University students and Cougar fans.
