Pullman PD recommends increases to parking fines
PULLMAN, Wash. — The Pullman Police Department is recommending that the City of Pullman increase parking fines to more closely align with rates used by other cities.
According to a survey conducted in October 2017 of 13 similarly sized cities in Washington, and two in Idaho, Pullman parking fines are well below the average.
Pullman PD staff recommend that the City Council establish a progressive fine structure, increase fine and permit fee amounts, establish discounts and/or late fees to encourage timely payment, and repeal several existing parking violations.
You can find the full list of recommendations here.
These recommendations will be discussed during the April 17 meeting of the Pullman City Council. You can provide input in person on Tuesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, or you can provide input to Pullman PD via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Feedback collected by email before the meeting will be passed along to the City Council.
