Pullman businesses raise money to fight mental illness
PULLMAN, Wash. — Eating out today in Pullman will do more than satisfy your hunger; it will help raise money to fight mental illness. After the suicide of Washington State’s quarterback Tyler Hilinksi, a number of Pullman’s restaurants, bars and coffee shops decided to take part in a day long event called “Dine Out for #3.” It’s happening all day tonight. Some of the businesses participating are: Roost, Cougar Country, Paradise Creek Brewery, Foundry, Rico’s, Fujiyama, Golden Teriyaki, Palouse Country Candy, the Next Page, the ZZU, Sam’s Apothecary, The Coug, Banyan’s on the Ridge, Sella’s, Pita Pit and Etsi Bravo. Part of the money from today’s sales will go to “The #3 Memorial Fund” which aims to start a conversation about suicide prevention, as well as raise awareness about mental illness, including depression.
