Public memorial service scheduled to honor longtime Davenport Hotel doorman John Reed
SPOKANE, Wash. — Longtime Davenport Hotel Doorman John Reed passed away earlier this month at the age of 88.
On Thursday, the hotel he worked at for more than 75 years will hold a memorial in his honor.
Reed was hired at the hotel when he was just 13-years-old by Mr. Davenport himself, back in 1942.
A public memorial service for the Spokane legend will be held inside the Pennington room at The Historic Davenport Hotel at noon Thursday.
