Prospectors Bar and Grill closes permanently, citing devastation from COVID-19

SPOKANE, Wash. — Prospectors Bar and Grill closed permanently on Wednesday, citing devastation from the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason.

“This has been weighing heavy on my heart; however, I feel it will be best for Prospectors Bar & Grill and me personally,” said owner Cheryl Didier.

In a letter, Didier thanked employees for their continued support, especially after the death of her husband, Mike, back in February.

“We really do have a great family of employees. It’s that very reason why this has been the most difficult decision I have ever had to make – both personally and professionally,” said Didier.

Didier said the devastation of COVID-19 on the economy and service industry was to blame for the restaurant’s closing.

“Please know I will cherish our time together, and all the memories made,” said Didier. “I can’t thank you enough for your service and dedication to our family business.”
