Post Falls couple faces incest charge in addition to child abuse
POST FALLS, Idaho — A Post Falls couple, already charged with serious child abuse charges, now face an addition charge of incest. Three months after their arrests Melvin Bledsoe and Joy Anderson remain in Kootenai County jail.
Bledsoe and Anderson are half-siblings. They were previously accused of severely beating and starving Bledsoe’s 6-year-old son in the Post Falls area. They were charged with felony injury to a child last October. During the investigation, police say they found information to support a charge of incest against the two.
Anderson, 30, and Bledsoe, 27, have pleaded not guilty.
According to Post Falls police, the boy, whom Bledsoe and Anderson took to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in October, had life-threatening injuries, including a split pancreas, ulcers on this legs, a cauliflower ears and scabs and scars all over his body..
Both alleged abusers face maximum sentences of life in prison.
