Portion of Bigelow Gulch to close for repaving on August 16-17
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Crews will close a stretch of Bigelow Gulch Road from Argonne Road to Havana, beginning at 5 a.m. Wednesday, August 16 until 6 p.m. Thursday, August 17.
The closure will allow crews to repave Bigelow from Weile Road to Palmer, east for Spokane City limits. This portion of road handles 16,000 vehicles each day, including freight traffic.
Residents affected by the closure will have access to their homes through a pilot car and should expect delays. Nearby businesses and emergency services have been notified of the closure.
This stretch of Bigelow is known for its curves, overhanging trees, speeding motorists and traffic accidents.
Repaving this section of the road is a maintenance project and not part of the Bigelow-Forker Urban Corridor.
