Plans to build a new Spokane stadium at Joe Albi will move forward, other options still on the table
SPOKANE, Wash. — Plans to build a new stadium where Joe Albi now stands will move forward, the Spokane Public School District said on Wednesday.
Back in 2018, Spokane voters agreed the school district should build the stadium at the Albi site in Northeast Spokane.
Spokane County Treasurer Michael Baumgartner disagreed, saying taxpayers could save more than $2 million building downtown.
In a meeting on Wednesday, the school board president said plans to build are moving forward, but the exact site has yet to be chosen and Baumgartner’s suggestion is still being considered.
