Pilot suffers minor injuries after flipping, crashing airplane

GRANT CO., Wash. — A pilot flipped his plane while landing it on a private airstrip near Royal City on Monday, suffering only minor injuries.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 83-year-old Dwain Forester was flying a 1960 Cessna 175B, coming down into a landing on the airstrip, when he attempted a 180-degree turn and flipped the plane upside down.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived with Royal Slope Fire & Rescue and helped Forester out, who only had minor injuries.
