Pedestrian killed after hit by car on South Hill, police investigating

A pedestrian was fatally injured Friday afternoon after being struck by a car in the 2600 block of E. 29th Ave. on Spokane’s South Hill. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where they later died of their injuries.

Police say a vehicle was headed eastbound on 29th and struck a pedestrian crossing the road in a crosswalk near S. Mt. Vernon St. just after 4 p.m. Friday.

The SPD Major Crimes Unit is investigating the crash, and report the driver of the vehicle cooperated with the investigation and that impairment does not appear to be a factor.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
