Passenger dies after being ejected from vehicle in Quincy collision
QUINCY, Wash. — A man was killed and a woman seriously injured Sunday night after their vehicle rolled four times in Quincy.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Angela Anaya, 48, of Quincy was driving at a high speed north on Road P-Northwest, when she failed to follow a curve in the road between Martin Road Northwest and Road 13-Northwest. The vehicle rolled four times, and ejected the passenger, 48-year-old Jose Lozano.
Anaya was injured but able to walk to her home, and was then driven by a friend to Quincy Valley Medical Center. Anaya then told hospital staff that she had been in a collision.
Deputies spent over three hours searching for the collision, before a deputy found Lozano dead at the scene around 3 a.m. Monday.
Anaya was later transferred to Providence-Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was admitted in serious condition with a fractured skull.
Alchol and excessive speed were both factors in the collision. Anaya was wearing her seatbelt, but Lozano was not.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
