Parks and Recreation, Trust for Public Land redesigning Dutch Jake’s Park in West Central Spokane

Plans are in the works to revamp a small park in Spokane’s West Central Neighborhood. The neighborhood, Spokane Parks and Recreation, and the Trust for Public Land are working together to create a new design for Dutch Jake’s Park.

Parks and Recreation says the project “provides an opportunity to create a park that is accessible to all, recognizes the rich history of the West Central Neighborhood, incorporates work of local artists, increases public safety, and connects the park to other parks and destinations in the neighborhood.”

On Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00, Parks and Recreation and the Trust of Public Land will host an open house at West Central Community Center, located at 1603 N. Belt Street. The City encourages people to come review the existing master plan and share ideas on how to revitalize the park.
