Update – 1:16 p.m. – After only three hours of business, Parisian Cupcake sold out of their stock of 8 dozen cupcakes just after 12:30 p.m. on their first day.

“Our most popular flavors have been Summer Strawberry, Lemon Raspberry, Death by Chocolate and Very Vanilla. We’re sold out on the chocolate,” said owner, Melody Pugh.

They weren’t sure what to expect for their first day, so they thought they’d make what they could sell. Tomorrow when they open at 10 a.m. you can expect 18 dozen for the day, more than twice today’s amount.

“Right now we’re starting out small. We want to grow organically over time with our own shop and kitchen. We cook in a commercial kitchen in the valley,” Pugh said. She continued, “Our goal is to grow into our own kitchen on-site.”

Their ingredients will be sourced locally and organically whenever possible. The strawberries for their Summer Strawberry came from Green Bluff. When it comes time for Fall, you’ll see locally seasonal inspired cupcakes like pumpkin and apple.

Since they’re a small to-go shop, the most product Parisian Cupcake will have at any given day will be the 18 dozen. When the cupcakes are sold out, they’ll spend the remaining day baking for the next.

Parisian Cupcake is located at 2403 S. Grand and have various hours throughout the week. They’ll be open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. (or until the cupcakes run out). Their website is not up and running quite yet, but you can find them on Facebook.
