Over 2K pounds beef recalled due to possible foreign contaminants
CHICAGO, Ill. — A Chicago establishment is recalling over 2,000 lbs of beef frank links due to concerns of contamination, specifically metal, in the meat.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Vienna Beef Ltd. produced the links on May 2, which were then shipped to food service locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
According to a report by the Department of Agriculture, the establishment noticed a problem and reported it to FSIS.
No illnesses have been reported in connection to the meat, but FSIS is warning food service institutions who have purchased the products to not consume them.
