Ongoing stabbing investigation leads to second arrest
SPOKANE, Wash. — Major Crimes Detectives continuing to follow up on a homicide on October 23, 2018, developed probable cause to arrest a second suspect, 32-year-old Alexander M. Maravilla, for murder.
On October 23, just after 2:30 a.m., a man died in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at 2nd Avenue and Division Street. Officers were in the area on an unrelated call and became aware of a large group gathered in that parking lot and about a possible fight.
Officers were on scene within minutes to find the group had scattered and a man had been stabbed. Officers performed CPR and requested medics. The man died at the scene.
Witnesses were interviewed and area surveillance video was collected to identify a suspect. Andre A. Conway, 29, was determined to be the suspect. He was found near Sprague Avenue and Browne Street by patrol officers.
Conway was taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Murder 1st Degree.
On October 26, around 4:30 a.m. patrol officers located Alexander Maravilla in the area of 4600 N. Hamilton Street. Maravilla was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for second degree murder.
Maravilla’s first appearance in court will be Monday, October 29 at 1:30 p.m.
