One person dead after fatal vehicle/pedestrian crash in East Central
SPOKANE, Wash. — One person was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle east of downtown Spokane.
Spokane Police responded to the area of 3rd Avenue and Perry St. around 9:30 p.m. to the report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. Once police arrived on the scene, a male victim was declared dead.
The female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the collision and was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
Roads in the area will be closed for several hours while Major Crime Detectives conduct their investigation, which is standard procedure in fatality collisions.
As of this time, names of those involved are not being released due to the ongoing investigation and notification of next of kin. The intersection and surrounding streets will remain closed for the next several hours.
