One Moses Lake man killed, another man injured in high speed crash
MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A Moses Lake man was killed, and another injured Wednesday after their vehicle rolled down an embankment on Road 9-Northeast
Justin Derricott, 29, of Moses Lake was driving at a high speed westbound on Road 9-Northeast about one half mile west of Road K-Northeast when just before 5 p.m., the vehicle came to the end of the paved road, struck an embankment, and rolled.
The passenger in the car, 28-year-old Mitchell Franz, died at the scene. Derricott was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake.
An autopsy will soon be conducted on Franz.
High speed and alcohol were both factors that contributed to the collision. Charges against Derricott are pending.
