One dead after fatal accident on U.S. Route 395 near Ritzville
RITZVILLE, Wash. — One man has died from his injuries sustained in a single-car accident on U.S. Route 395 near Ritzville on Saturday, Dec. 30.
Around 5:45 that night, a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer traveling north near milepost 96 driven by 62-year-old Lance Ziegler left the road, rolled into the median, and came to a rest on its tires. Ziegler – who was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital – died Wednesday afternoon in the hospital.
52-year-old Mary Ziegler was transported to Sacred Heart via Life Flight for her injuries. A 15-year-old child was also injured in the crash and transported to East Adams Rural Hospital in Ritzville.
Washington State Patrol says the car was traveling too fast for the road conditions, leading to the accident.
