Jeff was born on May 11, 1995 in Spokane, Washington to Lynn Owens and Dan Moberg.
Jeff attended Liberty Lake Elementary and Greenacres Middle School; he graduated from Central Valley High School in 2014. He participated in K-Kids (Kiwanis Kids), Math is Cool and Robotics. He attended Washington State University in Pullman and Spokane Falls Community College.
Jeff played soccer and loved going to Seattle Sounders games with friends and family. He had a knack for board games, video games, card games and math. He learned how to code at a very early age and over the years, he built several of his own computers. He could solve a Rubik’s cube in a matter of seconds with his eyes closed. Jeff loved rock climbing both indoors and out. He especially enjoyed Big Rock and the Rocks of Sharon. Jeff worked as a boxcar sampler and technician at the grain inspection office of the Washington State Department of Agriculture. He had a very quick wit and he loved amusing his co-workers. His nickname was ‘the octopus,’ because of his ability to take grain technician multi-tasking to the next level.
When Jeff was growing up, he loved going to visit his Grandma JoAnn and Papa Gary when they were snowbirding in Palm Springs and going to Disneyland and Legoland. He and his brother, Justin, spent many hours together playing with Legos. Jeff loved teasing people, especially his Grandma JoAnn. He loved seeing her reaction and she always came through for him!
Jeff is survived by and will be greatly missed by: his mother, Lynn Owens, of Spokane; his father, Dan Moberg, of Liberty Lake and his extended family; his grandparents, Gary and JoAnn Owens, of Spokane; his brother, Justin Owens (wife Lauren) of Spokane; uncle Layne Owens (partner Alan) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; aunt Lori Cook (husband Joe) of Spokane Valley; cousins Matthew and Laura Cook.
