NW Montana baseball team “overwhelmed” by support after vandalism spree
LIBBY, Mont. — A small Montana town has proved the power a community can have.
Last month, people ransacked the Libby Loggers Baseball concession stand, in Libby, Montana. Within hours of sharing the news online, donations for time, resources, and money started pouring in to support the team.
An online fundraiser totalled more than $5,000 to help cover repairs. An online post detailed all the help businesses across Montana offered to the team, from replacing shirts to painting the stand.
The Libby Police Department took one person into custody and believe they know two other people who may be involved, according to a Facebook post.
The Libby Loggers Baseball team thanked the community for their support and for the police department for finding the suspects.
“Beyond a new and improved concession stand, the community pride and the uplifting support we have received the past few days is by far the most valuable thing we will take from this.”
