Nowels, Nelson leading Spokane County Sheriff race, too close to call for prosecutor

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County Sheriff candidates John Nowels and Wade Nelson are currently leading in the race to become County Sheriff.

Nowels has 54 percent of the votes in the category so far, leading Nelson with 27.6 percent and Michael Zollars with 15.3 percent. Nowels currently works as the undersheriff for current Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich.

As for the Prosecuting Attorney race, all four candidates are very close.

Deb Conklin currently leads with 27.8 percent of votes, followed closely behind by incumbent Larry Haskell with 27 percent. Third is Stefanie Collins with 24.1 percent and Stephanie Olsen is fourth with 20.3 percent.
