Nowels ahead of Nelson in the race for Spokane County Sheriff

SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s Election Night!

For the first time in 16 years, there will be a new sheriff in Spokane County.

Two candidates are vying for your vote to replace Ozzie Knezovich. Current undersheriff John Nowels is going up against retired detective Wade Nelson, vying for your vote to tackle issues that matter most to you to keep you and your family safe.

Nowels is currently in the lead to become the next Spokane County Sheriff.

Here are the official numbers as of now.

(R) John Nowels: 72,634 votes (58.40 %)

(R) Wade Nelson: 49,112 votes (39.49%)
