SPOKANE, Wash. — Former Gonzaga Bulldog Rui Hachimura has been traded from the Washington Wizards to the Los Angeles Lakers.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news earlier on Monday. The former Zag was traded for Lakers player Kendrick Nunn, a 2023 second round pick from the Miami Heat, 2029 second-round pick from the Lakers and another second round pick.
The Japanese superstar played for the Zags from 2016-2019, leaving his junior year. In his final year with the Bulldogs, he averaged 19.7 points for game and was an All-American that year.
Hachimura will now have the chance to play with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.
