SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- People living in a Spokane Valley neighborhood have reported several moose sightings since the weather started to warm up.Â
Crystal Schofield sent in photos of a moose that she found hanging out in her yard around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. It was still in the neighborhood after lunch time.
It's not uncommon to see moose wandering neighborhoods in the Inland Northwest any time of year. Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) advises people to pick up fallen fruit or run a line of reflective material around areas you want wild animals to stay away from. Also, don't approach moose. Typically, they pass through neighborhoods and continue on their way if they are left alone.
People are advised to contact WDFW if moose have been on property for an extended period of time, are showing signs of aggressive behavior or if they are hurt or orphaned.
