SPOKANE, WA -- The Spokane Regional Air Support Unit, which is comprised of multiple local first responder agencies, made history Monday by flying the first All-Women Law Enforcement Flight Crew in the state.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, the flight was a regularly scheduled patrol and in honor of Women's History Month.
SCSO says during their patrol, the three-person crew assisted with multiple calls including a missing child, carjacking, and assault.
The three-person crew was Civilian Pilot Megan Fine, Spokane Police Officer Makalia McKitrick, and Spokane Valley Police Department Deputy Krystal Bitzer.
SCSO adds to their knowledge, this is the first flight of its kind in the nation.Â

Getting hired at KXLY gives Rob a chance to become part of the fabric of the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area.
Along with his wife, Rob left California for new pastures in Washington. Now a resident of Downtown Spokane, you can find Rob checking out new restaurants and breweries around town. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams, the LA Dodgers and Chelsea FC, as well as waking up early to watch Formula 1.
