Spokane Fire Department holds special needs visit for Giving Tuesday

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Fire Department held a special needs visit from the ISAAC Foundation to celebrate Giving Tuesday.

According to the foundation, safer encounters between first responders and people with special needs are predicated on practice and positive encounters. These visits to the fire stations, in particular, help desensitize special needs folks to law enforcement personnel, as well as prepare them to appropriately interact with them.

Community partnerships between the Spokane and Spokane Valley Fire and Police Departments and American Medical Response.

The ISAAC Foundation encourages siblings and parents to join in, too – RSVPs are required due to limited space.
