Previous Story:

The Spokane County Elections office is set to certify the August primary vote Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Spokane County Auditor Vicki Dalton said Monday afternoon that the elections office made the final run of ballots late in the afternoon and that barring any surprises, all of the ballots have been counted and the vote will be certified tomorrow.

According to the elections office, 46 percent of registered voters in Spokane County cast ballots.

It's been a foregone conclusion that Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Democrat challenger Lisa Brown would move on to the November vote in the race for the U.S. Representative 5th District.

While McMorris Rodgers is leading the entire 5th District by nearly 8,000 votes, it's a little different race in Spokane County where Brown received about 2,500 more votes than McMorris Rodgers.

The Secretary of State will certify the election on Friday.
