SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police detectives filed a warrant to search the truck of the man killed in an East Central shooting on April 29.
Jason Allison was shot on the front steps of a house near E. 5th Ave and S. Fiske St. He later died at the hospital.
According to court documents, police have reviewed surveillance footage that shows Allison and an unidentified person near the house prior to the shooting. The footage also shows two vehicles, an unknown sedan and a pickup truck, driving around the block and parking across the street from the house prior to the shooting.
Documents state Allison and the unidentified man made contact with drivers of both of the vehicles before the shooting. Police have not identified the drivers of the sedan and truck.
Court documents state the footage shows the unidentified person running westbound on 5th Avenue, while the truck also flees.
A records check completed by officers showed Allison owned the truck. According to court documents, the truck was not located at the scene, but was found at Apple Valley Dental on N. Market the night of the shooting. The truck was impounded.
Police filed the search warrant in hopes that a search of the truck will give them more information into what is now a second-degree murder investigation.
