One hospitalized in 3-car crash on Newport Hwy

COLBERT, Wash. - Around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, a car tried to cross Newport Highway at Colbert Road and was hit by an oncoming SUV. 

The car then spun out and hit a truck. The driver of the car was taken to Sacred Heart in an ambulance. According to WSP, his/her injuries were serious. 

The names of those involved have not been released. 

Investigators on the scene tell KXLY this is the second crash at the intersection of Colbert Rd. and Hwy 2 in the last week. 

One southbound lane of Newport Highway is closed while crews work to clear the scene. Expect some delays through the area this morning.
