PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. - One suspect is in custody, but Pierce County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for two more suspects involved in Tuesday's shooting near Graham-Kapowsin High School which left two students injured.
The shooting happened about 45 miles south of Seattle outside of the high school.
Both students are expected to survive following surgery at Tacoma General Hospital Tuesday afternoon, but it was an incredibly tense afternoon for students, staff, and parents left wondering if their children were in danger.
The shooting occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday outside of the school. The two males that were shot ran back to campus for help; one was found in the school parking lot and the other in a locker room.
Pierce County Sheriff's Deputies patted down students and searched backpacks and other belongings before releasing them from the school.
Both suspects are described as black males.
Sheriff's Deputies believe the shooting could be gang-related.
