Moses Lake car chase caught on dash cam

Moses Lake Car Chase

MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Police dash cam video recorded a pursuit early Wednesday morning, showing the suspects car going airborne before crashing into a BMX jump.

iFiberOne news reports the driver, Randy James, 20, has been charged in Grant County Superior Court with felony eluding. Moses Lake police said more charges are expected.

Charges for the second suspect, Daniel Tudor, 18, were not available on Thursday.

Moses Lake police tried to stop the suspects’ car near Peninsula Drive, claiming James didn't use his turn signal, and a pursuit ensued when he refused to pull over. James eventually reached a dead end at the entrance to the BMX track next to the Larson Recreation Center.

In the video James can be seen driving through a fence before driving over one of the dirt jumps. The car went airborne before getting stuck when it struck another jump.

James and Tudor both ran from the car after it crashed, but were later arrested.

A third occupant in the car did not run and was not arrested. He reportedly told officer James fled from the traffic stop because he had been drinking and had an outstanding warrant.

iFiberOne said along with an open bottle of beer, police found a suspected bag of heroin and another bag with marijuana, police also reportedly found a stolen firearm and ammunition.

James has five felony convictions to include possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding, trafficking stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and a community custody violation.
