SPOKANE, Wash. - UPDATE: Major Crimes Detectives arrested 35-year-old Matthew C. Bossard, and charged him with first-degree murder. Detectives have confirmed that the deceased was a victim of domestic violence.
Investigators will remain on scene late into the evening and will return tomorrow to continue the investigation.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released the victim's identity.
Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found dead in his bathroom as a possible homicide.
Thursday morning, around 9:15, Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a residence in the 8600 block of N. Whitehouse Drive for reports of a caregiver finding an unconscious man, covered in blood, in the bathroom.
The caregiver had arrived at the house to provide assistance to a family member living there when she found the man, who is in his 50s or 60s.
Spokane County Fire District 9 arrived to give medical assistance to the man, but were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Major Crimes Detectives are investigating the incident as a possible homicide.
The investigation is ongoing, but detectives do not believe there is any risk to the public.
The man has not yet been identified.
N. Whitehouse Drive between W. Shasta Way and N. Weipert Drive will be closed except for local traffic for an unknown amount of time.
