SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police arrested the suspect that caused ten schools to go under lockdown in Spokane on Thursday.
Garry and Shaw middle schools, NEWTECH Skill Center, Lidgerwood, Bemiss, Regal, Logan, Longfellow and Whitman elementary schools and Gonzaga Prep were all under modified lockdown on Thursday morning while police chased the erratic driving suspect on foot.
Spokane Police confirmed on Twitter that they located the suspect and took him into custody. They also thanked the Spokane citizens for their patience.
The modified lockdowns were lifted when the suspect was taken into custody.
Modified lockdown is when the exterior doors of the school are locked but other school activities continue.
The details aren't clear, but we know a man in a Walmart truck led police on vehicle chase, which turned into a chase on foot.
We will continue to update this story as it develops.
