SPOKANE, Wash. - Second Harvest got a big donation Friday that will help them continue to serve people in need with fresh, healthy food at no cost.
Friday morning, United Healthcare gave Second Harvest a check for $150,000 at the Millwood Mobile Market.
The Mobile Market is a large refrigerated truck filled with fresh produce and perishable products, which works like a farmers market.
People in need choose the food they want at no cost.
United Healthcare says 1 in 7 people in the Spokane community is what they call "food insecure".
Giving people greater access to healthy food is the goal of Second Harvest.
