OLYMPIA, Wash. - Gov. Jay Inslee will hold a press conference in Olympia Wednesday to call on the FCC to maintain current rules on the eve of the Federal Communications Commission vote to dismantle decades of open internet protections.
Gov. Inslee will outline the importance of protecting the 2015 order, call on the FCC to vote down the proposed repeal, and discuss policies that state government can use to promote the principles of net neutrality through consumer protection, state purchasing power, and holding internet service providers accountable.
Rep. Drew Hansen, Rep. Norma Smith, Sen. Manka Dhingra, and Sarah Bird, Chief Executive Officer of Moz.com will join Gov. Inslee.
