Navy Reserve Officer arrested for child porn charges

MOSCOW, Idaho - Police arrested a Navy Reserve Officer for trying to entice children over the internet, as well as child pornography allegations.

The case began in November when a Seattle police detective posed as the mother of two young girls offering them for sex on the internet. According to court documents, 51-year-old Jeffrey Hannon tried to secure sex with the girls. One of his emails asked how much the 5-year-old girl would cost. During the online conversation, Hannon sent two child porn images to the undercover detective to prove he was not a police officer.

Another email sent by Hannon admitted that he had had sex with underage girls as young as 14. Court documents also show that Hannon communicated with an officer in Arizona, who posed as a 14-year-old girl.

The case was transferred to the Moscow Police Department. Hannon was charged with two counts of felony enticing a child over the internet, and two child porn related felonies. He is being held in the Latah County Jail in Moscow on a $100,000 bond.
