LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - UPDATE: The Liberty Lake Police Department announced Saturday evening that missing teen Kyle Van Liew was found dead in a wooded area in Liberty Lake. According to the LLPD Facebook page:
The Liberty Lake Police Department is sad to report that Kyle Van Liew who was reported as missing since November 3rd was found deceased this morning in a wooded area near the 600 block of Liberty Lake Road. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends and the entire Liberty Lake Community. We will not be releasing any additional details about this investigation out of respect for his family.
Previous Update: Liberty Lake Police are searching for Van Liew in connection to the modified lockdown at Central Valley High School Monday. A rumor started that Van Liew was interested in harming himself and perhaps others. However, Liberty Lake Police and Sheriff's Office investigated and couldn't substantiate any sort of credible threat. Police say they have no reason to believe Van Liew made any threats towards the school and they are concerned about his well being because he had made suicidal statements.
The Liberty Lake Police Department is searching for a 16-year-old last seen on November 3.
Kyle K. Van Liew hasn't been seen or heard from since November 3, and police are concerned for his well-being.
Kyle is 5 foot tall, 115 pounds, with long brown hair.
