DEER PARK, Wash. - Mike Good said the minutes he waited for firefighters to arrive at his home in the 29800 block of North Short road Wednesday morning felt like hours. Good and his wife escaped an early morning house fire that started just after 4:00 a.m.
He credits the hard work of Spokane County Fire District 4 firefighters for keeping his home from completely burning to the ground. Good had four golden retrievers that also made it out of the home safely.
Fire officials are conducting a full investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire but the homeowners tells KXLY that it may have started as a result of a problem with his wood pellet stove.
