SPOKANE, Wash. - Happy Monday! Here's a few things to know for today.
The Zags are headed to the National Championship for the first time ever! Stay with us tonight as our KXLY4 Sports Team has live coverage of the historic game. If you're looking for a place to watch the game along with other Zag fans and students, McCarthey Athletic Center will open its doors and have the game live on the jumbo videoboards. The event is free, doors open at 5:15 p.m. for the 6:20 p.m. tip off.
There are only 6,000 seats, so first come first serve.
Spokane Police say more drugs and weapons are off the streets today since they chased down and arrested a fugitive. Police found a loaded handgun and a large amount of methamphetamine on 22-year-old Austyn Davis. Davis was booked into jail for a felony warrant and a number of new charges.
And a rescue effort after a plane crash in Olympic National Park late yesterday afternoon was successful. Washington DOT says a pilot and and passenger were airlifted to the hospital after their plane crashed near Mt. Jupiter. The downed plane was located about three hours after it had crashed. Both people on board suffered non-life threatening injuries. The FAA and NTSB are investigating further. Full story here.
Breaking news out of Russia this morning: an explosion on a St. Petersburg subway car. Early reports say as many as 10 died and 50 others were injured when an unidentified object detonated while a train was traveling between two stations. Full story and continuing coverage here.
