Idaho woman killed in crash near Lewiston

LEWISTON, Idaho - An elderly woman from Lapwai died in a crash Sunday afternoon near Lewiston. 

Idaho State Police said it happened on US 95 near milepost 309 around 1:51 p.m. 

75-year-old Geneva Towner drove over the center median and crashed into a 21-year-old woman who was driving in the opposite lane. Troopers said a 48-year-old man then collided into the other two vehicles. 

Towner died at the scene of the crash. The young woman involved and a juvenile with her had minor injuries, according to ISP. The male driver was not injured. ISP said everyone involved was wearing seatbelts. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
