LAS VEGAS — The Gonzaga women's basketball team lost to the Portland Pilots 64-60 in the WCC Championship game Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs were looking for its third straight WCC tournament championship, but came short at the hands of the WCC regular season runners-up.
It was an exciting game from the tip, with the Zags gaining momentum in the first half and the Pilots coming back and taking the lead late in the third quarter.
The Zags made a slight comeback at the end, but it was too much for the Bulldogs as the Pilots came away with the victory.
With the Pilots getting the automatic bid for the NCAA tournament, the Zags will have to wait until Selection Sunday to hear where and who they will play in the tournament.
