Detectives arrest man for possessing child porn

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A Spokane Valley Sexual Assault Unit detectives arrested and charged 47-year-old Marc D. Dye with ten counts of possession of child pornography Monday.

On April 30, Spokane Valley Sexual Assault Unit Detective Nate Bohanek and Sergeant Rosenthal met with and interviewed Dye. During the interview, Dye admitted to viewing pornography but denied possessing child pornography. He agreed to turn over his computers to be searched.

On Monday, Detective Bohanek was informed that videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct were discovered on one of the computers.

Spokane Valley Patrol Deputies then arrested Dye at his home in the 6000 block of E. 6th Ave.

Dye was booked into Spokane County Jail for eight counts of First Degree Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaging in Sexually Explicit Conduct and one count of 2nd Degree Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaging in Sexually Explicit Conduct. 

Several thousands of images from Dye's computer have yet to be searched. Investigators believe additional charges are likely.
