COLVILLE, Wash. - An man robbed a gas station in Colville at gunpoint late Tuesday night. The robber got away with more than $1,000 in cash.
Jennifer Moore, the manager of Whitty's Chevron, tells KXLY the gunman entered the store at around 11:00 p.m., wearing a mask and holding a gun.
After the clerk handed over the money, Moore says the gunman led the clerk out of the building at gunpoint. The gunman then forced the clerk to lay down in the dirt before leaving with the money.
Colville Police officers and personnel from both the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office and the Chewelah Police Department all responded to the scene. Investigators are now looking for a white male in his late 20s to mid 30s, who is 6' - 6'2" and weighs 160-180 lbs. According to a release from Colville police, the suspect has an athletic build and blue eyes, and may have a tattoo on his right shoulder blade area.
At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing black pants, a gray sweater, a black and yellow makeshift ski mask, and black gloves. Colville PD said the gun he pulled was a semi-automatic pistol.
No one was injured in the robbery. Ankur Sood, the owner of Whitty's Chevron, took to the Colville/Kettle Falls Classifieds Facebook page, offering a $500 reward for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
