COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Coeur d'Alene Police arrested a man early Wednesday morning, accused of raping a teenage girl and not letting another girl leave his apartment.
25-year old Brady Aaron Matthews was booked into the jail on charges that include rape, unlawful imprisonment, intimidating a witness and obstructing an officer.
According to court documents, a 16-year old girl and her friend went to Matthews apartment on W. Appleway. She told police they were drinking Malibu rum and kool-aid and that they smoked marijuana as well.
The girl said they went to Matthews' home because he and her friend were involved in an intimate relationship.
At one point in the night, the girl said she woke up to Matthews having sex with her. She said he told him to stop and pushed him away, but that he continued.
Around the time the girl was talking to police, other officers went to Matthews' home and he refused to come out of the apartment. According to court documents, Matthews had a woman in the apartment with him and he was not allowing her to leave. She eventually was let out, but Matthews refused and police called out SWAT who negotiated his exit.
Another woman has also come forward that said she was on the phone with the victim's friend during the alleged attack and could hear her saying "stop."
The victim's friend later confirmed to police that she witnessed the sexual assault.
Investigators seized Matthews clothes as evidence and booked him into the jail early Wednesday morning. They also collected marijuana and other drug paraphernalia from inside a safe.
He faced a judge Wednesday and jail records indicate his bond was set at $250,000 for several of the charges against him.
