37-year-old woman found guilty in murder of Bret Snow

SPOKANE, Wash. - On Friday, March 1, a jury found 37-year-old Cheryl L. Sutton guilty of 1st degree murder in the death of Bret Snow.

Snow's body has never been found. He was last sen on December 2, 2015. Detectives believe he was kidnapped and murdered during a drug deal.

Over the course of the nearly three-year investigation, detectives gathered evidence which suggested Sutton, "organized, managed, and directed several persons to engage in criminal activity for profit. In addition, these activities led to a criminal conspiracy which resulted in the kidnapping and murder of an associate, Bret Snow."

Three additional suspects charged in connection with the Bret Snow homicide investigation remain in the Spokane County Jail awaiting trial. Their names are:

  • Alvaro Guajardo
  • Colby D. Vodder
  • Kenneth L. Stone

Sutton’s sentencing hearing is scheduled on March 29, 2019.
