It is COLD for your Monday morning! Wherever you are in the Inland Northwest, you’re likely waking up to freezing or near-freezing temperatures. These overnight dips in temperature are expected to continue tonight and possibly tomorrow, with daytime highs only reaching the mid- to high-50s.

In the final hours, Washington state lawmakers finally agreed on a budget for the next two years. The budget was passed by both chambers just before midnight, less than an hour before the 105-day legislative session ran out. It relies on more than $800 million in new revenue. Lawmakers say some of that will come from an increase in taxes on large banks and technology companies. The budget looks to spend more on things like special education in the K-12 system and the state’s behavioral health system. It’s now headed to Governor Inslee.

If you’re a fan of The Avengers and Game of Thrones, you’re probably in entertainment heaven. If you’re not, you’re probably sick of hearing about two huge debuts this weekend. “The Avengers: Endgame” raked in the biggest box office numbers in film history, far surpassing records. The series finale made an estimated $1.2 billion worldwide during its opening, becoming the only film in history to cross the $1 billion mark in its debut. Then last night, Game of Thrones unveiled its highly anticipated Battle of Winterfell episode, depicting the climactic showdown the entire HBO series has been pointing to since its first season, way back in 2011.

The Navy admiral in charge of the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay has been fired for an unspecified “loss of confidence in his ability to command.” More information HERE.
