SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s another chilly start to your day today. We should warm up to almost 60 degrees today, then get a little bit warmer toward the end of the week.
“If the pins had been in, that crane would not have fallen over.” Crane accident investigator Tom Barth says it appears workers who were disassembling a construction crane in Seattle this weekend had removed pins which were securing sections together. Barth says that could explain why it toppled over, killing four people.

A group of 100 local veterans arrives home to the Spokane International Airport tonight. They were taken to D.C. yesterday by an Honor Flight so they would be able to see all of the memorials that were built in the capitol for them and their fellow soldiers. You can help give them a warm welcome home tonight at 7:30 in the lobby of the A & B concourse.
It may not feel like summer, but Starbucks is unveiling its summer 2019 menu today with the return favorites like the S’mores Frappuccino and the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, but also the launch of three new menu items. The Dragon Drink (Mango Dragonfruit Refresher with coconutmilk), the Crispy Grilled Cheese Sandwich (a three-cheese blend on buttery, toasted sourdough bread) and the Baja Black Bean Veggie Wrap (black beans, salsa slaw and mixed vegetables in a tortilla wrap) will all be available starting today.
