New year, new laws: KXLY 920 talks bizarre policy proposals
SPOKANE, Wash. — A new legislative session in Olympia means new laws- some of them more bizarre than others.
KXLY 920 spoke with Chris Cargill, the director of the Washington Policy Center’s eastern Washington chapter on Thursday morning. He outlined some of the more eye-catching proposals.
Senate Bill 6451 would label the Apple Pie as Washington State’s official pie, and House Bill 2365 would label the pine mushroom as the official state fungus.
Senate Bill 6212 would allow alcohol to be sold in the Capitol gift shop.
If you’re dreading setting the clock back in a few months, there may be some good news- Senate Bill 6220 would end Washington State’s participation in Daylight Saving Time.
