New Spokane sports complex now more than just a proposal
KXLY 920 spoke with Eric Sawyer, CEO of Spokane Sports Commission, Thursday about the proposed downtown sports complex on the north bank of the Spokane river.
According to Sawyer, if everything comes together, the sports complex could be breaking ground on construction early next year.
“We’re building a pretty significant building that is going to require the time necessary to build it right,” said Sawyer. “Because it’s going to be around for 40 years.”
That means spending time reaching out to the different sports organizations about what they need.
“This is going to have a huge, very significant impact on our region,” said Sawyer.
